Sarah Lawler is a theatrical lighting designer based in San Diego, originally from Riverside. Sarah graduated with her B.A. in Theatrical Design, with an emphasis in Lighting from California State University San Bernardino in 2012. While there she designed shows such as No Child, A Wrinkle in Time, and Hot L Baltimore.
She was the Lighting Fellow at The Old Globe Theatre for two years where she earned the opportunity to be an assistant lighting designer for the Tony Award winning show A Gentleman’s Guide to Love and Murder.
In addition to being the Lighting Fellow, Sarah worked as a freelance designer around San Bernardino and San Diego Counties. She has designed shows such as Two Gentleman of Verona, Richard III, Much Ado About Nothing, and Miss Kitty's Wild West Revue.
Sarah is currently attending The Ohio State University in pursuit of her Masters. As a first year she designed Henry V and the MFA Solo Festival. Sarah has taken up a special interest in digital media, specifically for lighting while at The Ohio State University. She has been diligently working on media type projects to further her knowledge of lighting in both video games and animation.
